PROSPECT-CENTRAL: Class of 2014 |
Written by: Prospect-Central
Three years ago Prospect-Central's initial c/o 2014 rankings were released. The top overall recruit that year was none other than the Maple Jordan himself; Andrew Wiggins. Once Wiggins reclassified, Jahlil Okafor quickly took over the top spot in PC's rankings, and the Chicago native has held down the honor ever since.
Losing Wiggins obviously hurt the star power of the class. Throw in the fact Noah Vonleh, Wayne Selden, Jr., and Dakari Johnson all reclassified as well, and all of a sudden c/o 2014 was starting to look average at best. The addition of Karl Towns, Jr. (once the top recruit in 2015) helped fill the void to some degree, but overall c/o 2014 still doesn't stack up to last years class.
Even though c/o 2014 lacks star power, there're still a number of future pro's waiting to showcase their skills at the highest level. While it's always nice to see your name among the nations best, the ultimate goal for these high school hoopers is playing in the NBA.
Who will rise to the challenge? Who will succumb to complacency? Who will become a name to remember? We'll all have our answers soon enough, but for the time being Prospect-Central's Final Rankings for the Class of 2014 will have to do. * PC's Top 100 c/o 2014.
