JAHLIL OKAFOR: 39 Point Massacre of Evanston Township!!!

JAHLIL OKAFOR: Class of 2014

Written by: Prospect-Central

Let's cut to the chase.  Jahlil Okafor will play in the NBA one day, it's as simple as that. Not only is the big man pushing 7-feet, he's easily one of the most skilled post players in high school.  Excellent footwork with a solid mid-range game, Jahlil Okafor had a fantastic sophomore season for Whitney Young (Chicago, IL).  Jahlil averaged 21.9 ppg, 12.3 rpg and 5 bpg, on his way to being named an All-American by a number of recruiting sites.

Jahlil's also playing very well this spring for the talented AAU team Mac Irvin Fire.  He recently helped the Fire earn a spot at the Nike Peach Jam, which will be held July 18th-21st in North Augusta, SC.  In the meantime he's been playing in Chicago summer leagues with Whitney Young and today he put on a performance that was one for the ages.  Jahlil dropped 39 points on Evanston High School (Evanston, IL) and showed why he's considered the best big man in high school regardless of class.  So get familiar with the game of Jahlil Okafor now, because in roughly three years, it's going to cost $$$$$ to watch him play!!!

* Funny thing happened while writing this article.  After the game between Whitney Young & Evanston High School, the commentators for High School Cube apparently forgot the microphones were still on when they called Jahlil Okafor, "A dumber Eddy Curry." Needless to say the game has been removed from the site.  In it's place is another game from today, Whitney Young vs. Nequa Valley (Naperville, IL).  While Jahlil still played well, it wasn't the same dominating performance as earlier.  Game starts at the 7:30 mark.  Sorry!!!
