  1. are you serious where is Cheick Diallo ? he's destroying high school competition. He's taking his school our savior new American to a new level top 10 team in the country. Outplayed Thon maker this week in Kentucky and been outplaying all top big man in 2014 and 2015 in Nike EYBL competition including Ivan Raab, Turner ...better watch this kid again,,,

    1. If your going to cut into me about an NBA Mock Draft that's well over 2-years away, at least get your facts right. First of all, even though Our Savior New American defeated Carlisle School 89-70 at the 2014 Mustang Madness, I wouldn't exactly say Cheick Diallo outplayed Thon Maker. Diallo definitely gave Maker trouble at times with his physicality, but Thon still finished the game with 23pts, 11rebs, & 5blks. Diallo had a solid game with 13pts, a number of rebounds, and ferocious defense, but Thon is clearly the more talented prospect.

Secondly, Myles Turner wasn't at the 2013 Nike EYBL, so your wrong about Diallo outplaying him at that event. Ivan Rabb was there however, and in their one game against each other, Diallo shot 10/17 from the field, finishing with 24pts, 17rebs, & 4blks. Ivan Rabb shot 3/7 from the field, finishing with 9pts, 16rebs, & 3blks. While Diallo may have had the better game, Oakland Soldiers got the win, defeating Team Scan 88-84.

Even though Diallo outplayed Rabb that day, their overall numbers for the 2013 Nike EYBL were actually pretty similar, with Rabb getting the slight edge.

      Ivan Rabb: 12.9ppg, 11.2rpg, 3.2bpg, 27.2mpg, .52FG%
      Cheick Diallo: 12.9ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.6bpg, 27.2mpg, .53FG%

Don't get me wrong. Cheick Diallo is a big-time player. Prospect-Central was actually the first recruiting site to have Diallo as a Top 10 recruit in the c/o 2015, so obviously I think the kid can play. He's currently slotted into PC's 2017 NBA Mock Draft Lottery, but since he's only a junior in high school, anything can change between now & then. Bottom line, Cheick Diallo will hear his name called very early, whenever he decides to declare for the NBA Draft.

    2. Hello my friend prospect central, sorry that wasn't my intention to cut into you.
I know you're doing a great job with your site discovery early talent.
I live in the Bronx, I saw plenty of cheick Diallo.you're right about your fact but my mistake I just saying he played great against Miles Turner in NBPA top 100 camp. What's bother me how this kid underrated by most of the scouting service. The kid posted a triple double in Hoop hall and having a great season so far with Our savior new American.. This is just me I don't think there is 7 players in the class of 2015 better than him.. This kid never take a time off and play like its a war going on... Again I respect your opinion, keep doing a good job and thank you for your reply

    3. Hello friend. No harm, no foul, so it's all good. I agree with you about Cheick Diallo to some degree. He's a superior talent with a chance to go real far in the game of basketball. I watched his triple-double performance at the 2014 Spalding Hoophall Classic, and he not only looked awesome, he was absolutely dominant. I don't think he's underrated anymore though, since he's currently a consensus Top 10 recruit in the Class of 2015.

At the moment, there are only two players in the class who should be in the conversation for the top spot; Ben Simmons & Ivan Rabb. You can make an argument for Diamond Stone, Stephen Zimmerman, and even Malik Newman's name to be thrown in the discussion, but after that there's basically no pecking order.

Cheick Diallo's certainly a Top 5 talent though. What separates Diallo from Simmons & Rabb however, is a consistent offensive repertoire. Once he develops that area of his game, there's no telling how good he could become. Anyways, thanks again for taking interest in the site, and I appreciate your kind words.

  2. PC: Did you go to the Mustang Madness or Marshall County Hoop Fest? Diallo and Maker have only been playing for a few years right?

    1. What's up Pistol Pete. Actually watched both tournaments via live-stream. Gotta love technology :) Both Maker & Diallo have pretty similar backgrounds when it comes to athletics. They both played soccer growing up, but Thon started playing basketball in May of 2010, while Diallo has been playing organized ball for a little over three years now. Looks like both Maker & Diallo's best playing days are on the horizon.

  3. Sounds like similar backgrounds to Hakeem too.

What do you think about JaQuan Lyle as an NBA prospect? Do you think him and Myles Turner could both end up at Kansas? Is he the best passer in the nation?

    1. Since he's not even 18-years old yet (02/24/96), JaQuan Lyle should have a legitimate chance to play in the league one day. Whether it's at point guard or shooting guard is yet to be determined however. The one knock against him, he's not an elite athlete. His lack of explosiveness will certainly be tested at the next level, and might ultimately keep him from reaching his dreams. Even if the NBA's not in his future, he's still a talented basketball player none the less.

Whether Lyle's the best passer in the nation or not is subject for debate, but he's definitely in the discussion. There're some underclassmen with serious passing skills, but when it comes to players from the Class of 2014 with elite vision, it's hard not to mention Florida commit Chris Chiozza, and of course Duke commit Tyus Jones.

Will JaQuan Lyle & Myles Turner both end up at Kansas? I try not to predict where recruits end up at school for a couple reasons. For starters, they're always changing their minds (JaQuan Lyle already de-committed from Louisville). More importantly though, everyone eventually finds out where they go to school anyways, so what's the point.

I will say this. As of right now Kansas appears to be the favorite for Myles Turner, while Indiana might have the slight edge over the Jayhawks when it comes to Lyle. If Kansas can land either recruit that'll obviously be huge, but Myles Turner is the clear prize in this scenario. Pairing Turner with Cliff Alexander would be an unbelievable frontcourt tandem, and throw in the electrifying Kelly Oubre on the wing, Kansas fans everywhere should be chanting "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" in no time.

  4. Actually Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisville do not keep in touch with Lyle anymore, unless that's changed in the past week.

Thanks for the responses. I'll be back with more discussion and questions in the future. BTW you don't seem to post on nbadraftdotnet much anymore.

    1. Why ask a question, when you already have the answer? (lol) Who said anything about JaQuan going to Louisville or Kentucky? Like I said, I don't make predictions, but it seems like Indiana, Kansas, and Oklahoma State are the 3 schools vying for Lyle's services right now, with the Hoosiers having the slight edge. These kids change their minds quicker than they change clothes though, so just take it for what it's worth, which is not a whole lot.

  5. I'm not sure which question I asked that I had the answer to, but I didn't realize that Indiana was still recruiting him. A few weeks ago he said they weren't in contact anymore (he said the same about UL & UK which is why I mentioned them).

    1. No worries Pistol Pete. The recruitment of high-profiled athletes are constantly changing, especially this late in the game in regards to JaQuan Lyle. I just assumed Indiana was still in the mix since he's local, not to mention a number of so-called "recruiting pundits" felt the Hoosiers had the edge. Take them out of the equation and we have; Kansas, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Oregon, Memphis, Connecticut, Providence, and West Virginia (assuming it hasn't changed already). Basically your guess is as good as anyone's, so have at it :) Anyways, I apologize for the misunderstanding & definitely appreciate your input.

  6. OK I'm not offended (it may have came off like I was in text lol). I live in Evansville and I hope he gets selected Wednesday for the McDonald's Game. I'll be back in the future.

  7. Thon Maker, any chance he re-classes to 2015? Maker, Papagannis, Zimmerman & Stone would be four super center prospects and perhaps four one and done NBA 2016 lottery picks.
