Shaq Throwback: Complete Game of Shaquille O'Neal in High School!!!

SHAQUILLE O'NEAL: Class of 1989

Written by: Prospect-Central

Have you ever wondered what 7-foot-1, three-hundred pounds looked like in high school? We've all seen what Shaquille O'Neal did in college and the NBA, but what was Shaq like before he became one of the most dominating big-men to ever play the game?

Born March 6, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey, Shaq actually grew up on a military base in Wildflecken, West Germany, before moving back to the U.S. for his last two-years of high school.  Once back in the States, it was quite apparent Shaquille O'Neal was destined for greatness.

In his two-years at Cole High School (San Antonio, TX), Shaq led the Cougars to a 68-1 record, averaged 32 points, 22 rebounds, 8 blocks and won a state championship.  He also led the entire nation in rebounds with 791 and was the MVP of the 1989 McDonald's All-American Game.

Even though Shaquille O'Neal was clearly the most dominant player in the nation, it was actually New York City's Kenny Anderson who was the #1 player in the Class of 1989.  There were some other big-time baller's in that class as well, including Bobby Hurley, Jimmy Jackson, Alan Houston and Harold Miner, but it was Shaq who was head-and-shoulders above everyone (literally).

Before the 15 All-Star Game appearances, 4 NBA Championships, 3 Finals MVP's, 3 All-Star Game MVP's, 1 NBA MVP and earnings of almost 300 million dollars, Shaquille O'Neal was just another high school basketball player with aspirations of making the league.  With the complete game between Cole vs. Lampasas High School from San Antonio, Texas in 1989, I would like to officially welcome you to the Shaq Throwback!!!

NAIJIEL HALE: Standout DB from Class of 2014 & Nate Dogg's Son!!!

NAIJIEL HALE: Class of 2014

Written by: Prospect-Central

Reeeeggggulators....Mount Up!!!  It was a clear black night, a clear white moon, Naijiel Hale's on the field, trying to consume.  And that's exactly what Hale's done throughout his junior year of high school football.  Consume the opposition.

The son of the legendary rapper Nate Dogg, Naijiel was on the verge of quitting the sport all together after his father passed away in March of last year.  With the help of family, friends and coaches, Hale's persevered through a difficult time in his life to become a promising young corner back in the Class of 2014.

After transferring from Lakewood High (Lakewood, CA), Hale's been absolutely sensational playing for one of the best teams in Southern California, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA). Through the first ten games of the season, Naijiel has 45 tackles, 3 interceptions and 1 sack.  Pretty impressive considering St. John Bosco's a top 10 team in the country and Hale's only a junior.

Naijiel Hale's certainly no geek off the street.  At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, he has decent size for a corner back, but really impresses with his instincts, athleticism, and tackling ability.  Hale's still a relatively unknown prospect, but that should change very soon.

With Puff Daddy's son Justin Combs receiving a scholarship to UCLA and Snoop Dogg's son Cordell Broadus receiving offers as well, it's only a matter of time when Naijiel follows suit.

Besides being a standout on the high school gridiron, it's rumored he can spit it on the mic as well.  So for the time being...Naijiel Hale..."Has more lines than a million pair of Adidas, more lines than an African heard of zebras, more lines than the Bible quoted from Jesus, and no high school baller's intercept TD passes like he does!!!"
