High School Basketball Class of 2015: Fast Start for 5 Freshmen!!!

Allonzo Trier: Class of 2015

Written by: Prospect-Central

The 2011-12 high school basketball season is about to start for the entire nation in a couple days and it should be a very entertaining one.  While the season hasn't officially started for all of the country, there are some teams that have already started playing ball.  On these teams are some freshmen that are beginning their high school basketball careers with a bang.  In August I wrote about ten freshmen to keep an eye on from the class of 2015. Every player that I mentioned in that article, the one's who have started their season anyways, are off to an excellent start.  Since I have already written about those player's, I wanted to shed some light on some new freshmen that are off to a fast start as well.  These five freshmen baller's are not unknown in the basketball community.  On the contrary, they are well established names throughout their area and seem to have very bright futures. All five of these players are currently in Prospect-Central's top 50 for the class of 2015.  Whether they can parlay this early success into an outstanding freshman campaign has yet to be determined, but there is no denying that they are off to a solid start.  * Some videos may be outdated.

ALLONZO TRIER pg / 6'0'' 165 / Oklahoma City Storm / Oklahoma City, OK
If there was ever a way to start your freshmen year off with a bang...Allonzo Trier may have found it.  Through his first nine games of varsity basketball, Allonzo Trier is leading the Oklahoma City Storm as well as the entire freshmen class in scoring with 25.6 ppg.  His best game to date was a monster 41 point performance against a very good team in Trent Internationale. Trier's fast start should be of little surprise considering he has been an established name in the world of grassroots basketball for quite sometime.  Originally from Federal Way, Washington, Trier moved to Oklahoma City in the summer of 2010 and quickly proved that he is one of the best point guards in the class of 2015.

JESSE PISTOKACHE sg / 6'3'' 170 / Sharyland High / Mission, TX
Another freshman to keep an eye on...Jesse Pistokache. Pistokache is one of the top shooting guards in the class of 2015 and is off to a very fast start for the 2011-12 season.  In his first 6 games with the Sharyland Rattlers, Pistokache is leading his team in scoring with 16.3 ppg and has shown a nice ability to distribute the ball as well as rebound.  Pistokache has been a well known name throughout the AAU circuit, playing for the 2011 14U National Champion Texas Titans.  It appears Jesse Pistokache is starting to make his mark in the world of high school basketball as well.

SEDRICK BAREFIELD pg / 6'0'' 160 / Centennial High / Corona, CA
Sedrick Barefield is a nice developing point guard out of the Southern California area who has been a terrorizing force in his age bracket for quite some time.  Barefield has only played one varsity game so far in his high school career, but it was a superb outing to say the least.  He helped lead his Centennial Huskies to a seventeen point victory over Lakeside High by pouring in 20 points and 6 assists.  Barefield has shown a nice ability to get to the basket as well as excellent court vision and ball handling abilities.  It is easy to see why there are a number of big-time college programs already interested in this freshman.

AUSTIN GRANDSTAFF sg / 6'3'' 170 / Rockwall High / Rockwall, TX
Austin Grandstaff is another nationally known prospect off to a solid start in his freshman year.  Grandstaff is a smooth combo guard out of Rockwall, Texas and has helped lead the Rockwall Yellowjackets to a 7-1 record thus far in the season.  He is leading his team in scoring with 15.5 ppg, shooting a solid 44% from behind the arch.  He is also leading the team in assists with 4.4 apg. Grandstaff is a known name on the AAU circuit as well. Back in July, he helped lead Team Texas to a 2nd place finish at the 2011 14U National Championships.  Austin Grandstaff should be a very interesting prospect to keep an eye on for the future.

AARON HOLIDAY pg / 6'0'' 160 / Campbell Hall / North Hollywood, CA
If the last name and face of Aaron Holiday sounds and looks familiar it's because he is the younger brother of emerging NBA star and starting point guard for the Philadelphia 76er's Jrue Holiday.  Aaron has been a stat stuffing machine for the Campbell Hall Vikings in his first two varsity games.  Holiday is second on the team in scoring with 21.0 ppg, and he leads the team in rebounding (8.0), assists (4.0) and steals (1.5) as well.  In his first ever high school game this past summer, Holiday scored an astonishing 54 points. It's clear this freshman's future is very promising.  * No current footage of Aaron Holliday, so here is a Jrue Holiday highlight video!!!
