All good things must come to an end, and the 2012-13 high school basketball season is no different. There were a number of interesting and compelling story lines throughout the year, but it basically boils down to two things; Andrew Wiggins was the best player in the country, and Montverde Academy (Fla.) was the best team.
As exciting as the season may have been, it will ultimately be measured by how well the senior's perform once they enter college and the pros. There's high hopes for the Class of 2013, as NBA gm's are already penciling some of these recruits into future drafts. It should take about 3-4 years to truly see how the class compares to others, but don't be surprised if you eventually see a handful of players emerge as all-stars.
Now that the Class of 2013 is no longer in the mix, it's time to take a look at how the rest of the nation stacks up against each other. Prospect-Central will be updating its individual class rankings throughout the month of June, but here's a sneak peak at some of the best high school basketball players in the country.
Since the 2013 AAU basketball season is just underway, the class rankings will once again be updated at the end of the summer, but for the time being these are PC's Top 25 players in the country regardless of class. * Top 25 players are comprised of 10 juniors, 8 sophomores, 6 freshmen, and 1 eighth grader.
